Meiko Reigelman, MM

Piano Instructor

Meiko Reigelman, a native of Osaka, Japan, has been an active chamber musician, pianist, and organist in the United States. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Music from New York University where she studied with Miyoko Lotto and organ with William Entriken. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Cleveland Institute of Music as a merit scholarship student; teachers included Daniel Shapiro for piano, and Adeline Huss for theory and Todd Wilson for organ.

Her interests in the Baroque repertoire have led her to perform works particularly by Johann Sebastian Bach and consequently to perform and compete at the Johann Sebastian Bach International Festival and Competition in Leipzig, Germany. Her interests in the French repertoire also have led her to work with Jacques Rouvier and Olivier Gardon at Académie Internationale d’Eté de Nice, where she performed in the master classes and concert series focusing on the French repertoire. She has appeared as music director, pianist, and frequent guest organist for concerts and recitals at historical churches in NYC, including Trinity Church Wall Street, Riverside Church, First Presbyterian Church on Fifth Avenue, and the Basilica of Old St Patrick’s Cathedral. As an educator, she has worked with numerous children with diverse backgrounds throughout her 17 years of teaching career.

After 15 years of living in NYC, she relocated to WNY to be with her husband and family, and they moved to Rochester in late 2022. They enjoy the friendly neighbors and rich cultures Rochester offers.
